The Early Beginnings

The first ARISE! EVENT was held in Singapore in 2002. ARISE! was started in obedience to a vision God placed in my heart. I pray that you too, will catch this vision and be a part of Arise! in one way or another….Over the years, the Lord crystalised the vision of ARISE!
– It is about raising children who have a heart of worship-and out of their worship flows the song, the dance, prayer and mission…they will be a part of Isa 61:11.

Since the first praise and worship event ARISE! has worked with like-minded ministry partners, churches and individuals to train and release children in these areas of praise and worship, prayer (Children in Prayer) and missions (Go Fest Asia and Go Forth).

We believe that God has now expanded the vision and we have a burden to see ARISE! in every time zone of the world and the children gathered in continual, 24hr praise and worship, on April 14 (4-14).

How Arise Started – A Personal Testimony

At the beginning of 2000, I started to ask God what His will was for me.

Around April, I was driving along Nichol Highway and praying when, I had a picture of children, many children, running forward; hands outstretched and praising God. I knew in my heart that He was answering me. I asked for a confirmation if this was what He wanted to bring about. In June, we had our church camp. I continued to ask God for a confirmation; for three days I asked for a word….

Beverly Mortlock, our speaker’s wife gave me a word- she saw what looked like an egg that God had given me and it was “a task” that “you are to bring it to birth” – she said a whole lot more and everything was specific to the “task.” She did not know of this burden and had no idea I was asking for an answer.

Thank God for this vision & His confirmation!

After each ARISE! we wait on God to see if He would want it to run again but 2012 is different. The vision is to see ARISE! in every time zone of the world on 14 April 2012 – continual praise and worship and prayer, specifically for and by the children. ….read on and be amazed at how God puts His plans in order.

ARISE! 2012-2014

Since it’s early beginnings, the Lord put it on our hearts that ARISE! would be taken to every time zone of the world. ‘How on earth can this happen?’ was the response I had until 2011 when the Lord reminded me of this impression again. By faith we put the call out in 2012

“It is Time: Gather the children in worship and prayer on April 14, 2012”

In line with the 4-14 Window movement that had recently started we selected April 14 to put out the call. As the Lord would have it, the date coincided with the Global 4/14 Pray Day – it seemed that God was orchestrating all this. Coordinators across 30 countries, covering 20 time zones responded. Can you picture the children worshiping Jesus around all around the world, hour after hour!

The call went out again for April 14, 2013 and children across 35 countries joined in.

ARISE! 2014

Teams in various countries have been praying about the strategy for 2014.
April 14 falls on the Monday and it would seem that the tie in to the 4-14 concept would not work until we realised that the whole month of April was 4-14

Organisation

The ARISE! team is made up entirely of volunteers and ministry partners who have the same heart for children.

Gwen De Rozario chairs the planning team and since 2010, ARISE! has gone under the umbrella of the Evangelical Fellowship of Singapore (EFOS).
